Part of Brovary community without power due to shelling, — Mayor Sapozhko

In the Brovary community, as a result of an enemy attack on the night of 20 August, power lines were damaged, leaving some subscribers without electricity. Energy workers are already working to fix the consequences; restoring the networks will take about three hours.

KV learned this from a message by Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko on Telegram.

“As a result of an enemy attack, power lines were damaged. Part of the community’s subscribers have been without electricity since night. DTEK is doing everything possible to restore the networks as quickly as possible. Please remain calm,” the message says.

Sapozhko also noted that energy workers need 2,5–3 hours to fully restore power in the community, but these timelines are valid only if the security situation remains favorable. If needed, residents can freely use the Resilience Points to charge devices; these are currently located and operating in Brovary, Knyazhychi, and Trebukhiv.

In addition, the mayor reported on the environmental condition after the attack. As of the morning, specialists took air measurements in the city of Brovary, in particular near Nezalezhnosti Boulevard and Oleg Onikienko Street. None of the measured indicators exceed the maximum permissible concentration (MPC). In particular, the radiation background is also within normal limits.

Recall that on the night of 20 August Kyiv region suffered a Russian combined strike. As a result of the attack, one man was killed and at least 8 people were injured. The shelling ignited fires at two fuel infrastructure facilities, in storage premises, private homes, and vehicles.
