Recurrent strike on the Holosiivskyi district: there is a casualty, air quality worsened

As a result of debris from a Russian drone falling in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, a fire occurred in another location — on the territory of non-residential development. While extinguishing the fire and dismantling structures, rescuers found the body of one person who had died. In addition, due to heavy smoke in this part of the city, there was a sharp deterioration in atmospheric air quality.

This was reported by Novyny.LIVE citing a statement by Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Repeat attack on the Holosiivskyi district

On the territory of non-residential development a fire erupted after debris from a Russian drone fell. Emergency services initially found one person injured; later it became known that in the non-residential area in the Holosiivskyi district a dead person was found.

“One person has died on the territory of a non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district, where the fire is being extinguished as a result of an enemy attack,” wrote Vitali Klitschko.

Due to heavy smoke, there was a sharp deterioration in air quality. Local residents are urged to close windows and limit time spent outdoors because of high concentrations of combustion products and carbon monoxide.

Increase in casualties in Kyiv

While clearing the debris, the number of people killed in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv as a result of the Russian attack rose to 11. This was reported by the head of the Solomianskyi District State Administration, Serhiy Movienko.

Thus, the total number of casualties in Kyiv from today's attacks reached 17 people.

As Novyny.LIVE wrote earlier, 20 August, the Russians first struck the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in a business center; while working at the scene, rescuers found the body of one deceased person. Two people were also reported injured.

Overall, the attack on Kyiv on the night of 20 August was one of the most widespread in recent times. The Russian forces used missiles of various types, as well as 168 drones.
