Mykhailo Nakonechnyi: the Path to a Traitor

A number of current Ukrainian politicians continue to faithfully serve imperial ambitions of the Russian Federation and are ready at any moment to flood the country with rivers of blood.

Unfortunately, law enforcement agencies largely demonstrate complete impotence in the fight against Ukraine's enemies. Most of those who brought war to Ukraine have not borne proper responsibility or punishment. Although such Moscow loyalists exist in all spheres and institutions, a significant portion are concentrated in Viktor Medvedchuk’s Opposition Platform — For Life (OPFL) party.

Under the “wing” of the leader of the Kyiv city branch and member of Parliament from OPFL Vadym Stolar, the most prominent representatives of the FSB-aligned agency and corrupt figures gathered. In particular, Kyiv City Council deputy Mykhailo Nakonechnyi has a close tie to the traitor of Ukraine, former SBU general-colonel Serhiy Hanzha, and traveled a long road together with him.

Nakonechnyi, immediately after finishing his studies in 2004 year, obtained a position as deputy head of the Legal Department of Automotive Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure. At that time, the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure was the regionalist Hryhoriy Kirpa.

Such a career leap was an unattainable dream for thousands of graduates, but not for Nakonechnyi. This was Nakonechnyi’s first entry into power during Yanukovych’s era. After the Maidan, following Yanukovych, the young legal scholar was removed from his chair. There are rumors that his entry into the Ministry of Infrastructure was helped by Serhiy Hanzha, who knew Nakonechnyi’s father, who was already deceased at the time.

Therefore he started engaging in polygraphic business, founding LLC “Automotive Transport Consulting,” which operated for about a year. Among the founders of this company were people from the base region of the Party of Regions. In particular, resident of Luhansk region Stanislav Aslamov, who later founded LLC “Stolitsya Trans” together with the wife of the deputy head of the President’s Administration 2010-2014 of the years Oleg Rafalskyy.

But this was far from the last of Yanukovych’s “best people,” with whom Nakonechnyi’s connection can be traced.

Although all media link Nakonechnyi’s rise with Viktor Pilipyshyn. And Mykhailo himself acknowledges work in firms connected with Pilipyshyn, notably LLC “Max-Bud,” where he became director in 2007 year. But in his official biography, Mykhailo notes that he simultaneously headed other firms in that same year: LLC “Remiks” and LLC “Stoik-Plus.” And he also served as assistant-consultant to Viktor Pilipyshyn for only half a year, from December 2007 to June 2008.

Why Pilipyshyn’s assistant did not work out is unknown, but it is known that Nakonechnyi immediately after losing the post of Pilipyshyn’s assistant moved into some business structures in which he owned stakes until 2009 year.

But there is no mention in the official biography, written by Nakonechnyi himself, that he led the Kyiv branch of the party “All-Ukrainian Patriotic Union.” And he headed the Kyiv branch of this party exactly when it was led by KGB officer and, concurrently, SBU officer — Serhiy Hanzha.

It was around that time, when Hanzha was head of the SBU in Kyiv region in 2004 – 2005 year, that Mykhailo Nakonechnyi obtained a position in the Ministry of Infrastructure. He held this warm post exactly until Hanzha held his post.

But after the scandal over fuel-and-lubricant supply schemes, Serhiy Hanzha was sent to the then Dnipropetrovsk, where he became deputy mayor.

In Dnipropetrovsk Hanzha appeared as a fervent adherent of the “Russian World,” closely cooperating with the Russian Orthodox Church, and receiving “medals” from Patriarch Kirill.

The party “All-Ukrainian Patriotic Union,” as some media wrote, was connected with the former Speaker of the Parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn. Media stated that it was with Lytvin’s support that Serhiy Hanzha was put in charge of the State Reserve. There were even claims that this post was compensation from Yulia Tymoshenko to Lytvyn for creating a joint coalition. And the first thing Hanzha did in that post was to buy several expensive cars, including several SUVs and two Lexuses.

And the result of his work was underfunding by at least 858 million hryvnias, which the budget lost from selling fuel, meat, and other reserves of the State Reserve at undervalued prices. Of course, they sold at undervalued prices and bought at inflated prices exclusively from “their” companies. Among such, later in journalistic investigations, was LLC “VKP SKB,” which was controlled by a Donetsk-born Denis Barsuk, who was an assistant to People’s Deputy from the Party of Regions Vadym Stolar.

Of course Serhiy Hanzha did not suffer any punishment. Instead, after his dismissal, he spent a year in the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada under Lytvin. When Yanukovych came to power, Hanzha was returned to the SBU, where he took the chair of the Department of National Statehood. (the so-called Department “T,” or “political guard”).

In that position, Serhiy Hanzha orchestrated the case of the “Vasylkiv terrorists,” who allegedly wanted to blow up the Lenin monument. He also developed, or rather, signed a prepared FSB operation to disperse the Maidan in February 2014 year under the name “Boomerang,” flooding Khreshchatyk with blood of the Heavenly Hundred.

After this crime, Serhiy Hanzha gained the opportunity to calmly flee to the occupied Crimea, after which he was put on the wanted list. Only 2021 year was he stripped of all awards and titles! But not divorced from influence over Ukrainian politicians and political processes, as evidenced by his protégé Mykhailo Nakonechnyi.

Mykhailo Nakonechnyi did not suffer for the misdeeds of the head of his party. Nakonechnyi until recently headed Kyiv City Organization of the traitor party “All-Ukrainian Patriotic Union.” Until the Ministry of Justice liquidated that party through a court. Even during the liquidation, Nakonechnyi’s position was taken by his father-in-law Vasyl Matvyichuk.

Although Serhiy Hanzha was in hiding, his diligent follower Nakonechnyi did not face hardship. In his official biography, posted on the Kyiv City Council site, Mykhailo for some reason hides his activity after Hanzha’s flight until 2016 year, only briefly noting that he was a “private individual providing legal services.”

In the legal sphere, his son-in-law, Serhiy Hanzha’s son-in-law, Denys Bugai, holds significant positions; he has repeatedly become president of the Ukrainian Bar Association. Bugai was also a legal advisor to the “wallet of the Yanukovych family,” Serhiy Kurstenko, and sat on the supervisory board of his media holding UMH Group.

In 2014 year, Denys Bugai was detained by the SBU on suspicions of multi-million-dollar embezzlement of budget funds as a participant in Serhiy Kurchenko’s criminal group. Yet he did not suffer punishment. Even then-ombudswoman Lutskovska was involved in his release. There were rumors that fugitive Hanzha used all his influence and connections to secure his son-in-law’s release.

Later Bugai even became a member of the working group on reforming the advocacy system under the Council on Judicial Reform under President P. Poroshenko.

Life for Mykhailo Nakonechnyi stabilized, returning to the usual “budget resources flow.” From 2016 to 2018 year he held the post of General Director of Kyivzelenbud. In the Kyiv City Council there were rumors that Nakonechnyi was lobbied for this position by Vadym Stolar. Previously, in 2012-2014 year, Kyivzelenbud was led by another Stolar-connected Kyiv City Council deputy Mykhailo Tsarenko. And it is not surprising that both Mykhails are now in the OPFL faction of Kyiv City Council and both left a corrupt trace in Kyivzelenbud.

In the position of General Director of Kyivzelenbud, Mykhailo Nakonechnyi was involved in more than one corruption scandal. In particular, he was accused of purchasing incredibly expensive garbage bins. It concerns the purchase of almost 300 bins at a price of 12,5 thousand hryvnias apiece.

Also Mykhailo Nakonechnyi ordered the reconstruction of a park in Obolon for 1 million 351 thousand in 2016 year from a firm connected with a functionary of Kyivzelenbud.

In 2020 year, the NABU began investigations into Kyivzelenbud officials for the embezzlement of 78 million hryvnias of the city budget during 2016-2017 years. But in autumn 2020 year the High Anti-Corruption Court released Mykhailo Nakonechnyi to the custody of People’s Deputies from the OPFL: Nataliya Prykhodko, Oleksandra Lukasheva, Anatoliy Burmich, Volodymyr Moroz, and Hryhorii Mamtsya.

And now Mykhailo Nakonechnyi continues to serve the Russian Federation, using all his capabilities. In particular, together with other Kyiv City Council deputies from Medvedchuk’s party, he tried to promote a Kyiv City Council decision to propagate the Russian Sputnik vaccine.
