According to DT.UA sources, on Wednesday a meeting took place between Volodymyr Zelensky and Arsen Avakov, with the participation of Andriy Bohdan, head of the Office of the President, and President's assistant Serhiy Shefir, whom they consider a close friend of the minister of internal affairs.

From what appears, it is impossible to speak of peace and accord between the head of the security services and the Bankova administration — during an hour-long conversation Avakov not only refused the deputies proposed to him and stated his desire to independently form the Interior Ministry team, but also did not agree to hand over the National Guard to Zelensky.

In their view, the issue of deputy appointments will be resolved soon and not necessarily become critical, since Avakov had to accept the appointment of Eka Zguladze as his first deputy, and Khatius Dekanoidze as head of the newly created National Police.

“As for the National Guard, things could be more complicated — it is not ruled out that if such changes are approved, the minister of internal affairs will resign himself. At least such a threat was heard during the meeting at Bankova,” the experts note.
