Antin Mukharskyi left Ukraine and is seeking political asylum in Europe

Actor Antin Mukharskyi left Ukraine and is already in one of the European countries.

He wrote this on his Facebook page.

According to him, in the West he intends to apply for political asylum.

“This decision was completely spontaneous, because until the last moments of my stay in Ukraine I waited and believed that those in power whom I personally appealed to and who are responsible for upholding the rule of law in this country would hear me. I wrote open letters to the President’s Representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Lutsenko, and to the Minister of Justice, Pavlo Petrenko; I filed official statements with every possible institution that oversees the observance of fair judicial proceedings in Ukraine. I tried to present my position in nonpartisan media, but the streams of false information poured on me by tabloid publications and television channels were completely disproportionate to my resources — those of an artist trying to find justice where there is none to be found,” Mukharskyi wrote.

“The only thing I have recently asked the state for is justice. But the modern Ukrainian state cannot give me that. That is why I am leaving,” the actor said.

"7 December, in the Verkhovna Rada in the second reading in record-fast time the bill #7277 on increasing liability for alimony nonpayers was passed, which people have already christened ‘Sniazhana Yehorova’s Law.’ 18 December it was signed by Parubiy. And on 4 January by the President of Ukraine. According to the innovations, state and private enforcement officers can at their discretion impose travel bans on alimony debtors, revoke driver’s licenses, and the right to possess weapons (that is, the right to self-defense), transport them to the enforcement officer in handcuffs in a paddy wagon, send them to community service, and even put them in prison, thereby violating not only the Constitution of Ukraine but also the Geneva Convention.”

According to Mukharskyi, he has always fulfilled his obligations to pay alimony. Over the past three years he paid 1 million UAH. However, he says, his patience has run out.

“I will not return here while a third-millennium lady, a vulgar prosecutor in Louboutins, is ‘leading us on like kittens’ within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada; while a childless, unmarried man of unclear sexual orientation, like the so-called Minister of Justice, tells me — a father of five children — that ‘there are no other people’s children’; while his glamorous assistant Bernatska, whom he once presented as his lover, chatters on the presidential channel about ‘the malicious alimony dodger Mukharskyi’; and while ‘the best family law specialist’ Kateryna Vlasiuk, who handles my ex-wife’s cases, finally doesn’t hammer into her head that denying a father access to his own children is illegal,” Mukharskyi said.

Recall that on 3 January 2018 year Antin Mukharskyi’s property was seized due to a huge alimony debt.

This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Justice Nataliya Bernatska in an interview with the "5 channel", the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"In the case of Antin Mukharskyi — alimony was not paid for four children, the debt accumulated to about 400 thousand hryvnias over the entire period, and his property was seized," she said.

According to her, some of the property has already been sold. This includes a car displaying an image of Mukharskyi with his ex-wife, actress Sniazhana Yehorova. Bernatska noted that the situation regarding alimony in the country will improve after the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada comes into force.
