Ex-deputy of Kolomoyskyi headed Dnipropetrovsk regional council

The new head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council is Sviatoslav Oliynyk.

This was reported by the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council. By secret ballot, the majority of deputies elected a new head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.

The vote took place during the 19th session of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council. The factions present nominated Sviatoslav Oliynyk as the candidate for the new head.

“For” him voted 91 deputy out of 93 present. At the start of the plenary meeting, the previous head of the regional council, Hlib Pryhunov, who had earlier announced his resignation, relinquished his powers. By its majority, the deputy body accepted Pryhunov’s resignation.

“The main task for us today is to establish joint and productive cooperation with the regional state administration. Right now we must organize our work so as to use budget funds as effectively as possible, finish suspended constructions, and implement projects important for the region,” Oliynyk said. Before this, Sviatoslav Oliynyk worked for 4 years in the regional council as first deputy. In March 2014, Igor Kolomoyskyi, as head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, appointed Sviatoslav Oliynyk as one of his deputies. After Kolomoyskyi’s dismissal, Oliynyk also resigned.
