Sadovyi spoke about his meetings with oligarchs

The founder of the Samopomich party and mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, insists that he did not use the help of oligarchs during the election campaign.

He said this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.

"You know, if I in life met with this or that person, someone can fantasize and make connections. During the election campaign I heard that Sadovyi is supported by: a) Serhiy Lyovochkin; b) Vasyl Khmelnytskyi; c) Ihor Kolomoiskyi. Of course, I heard about Borys Kolesnikov," Sadovyi says.

"Akhtemov was mentioned. All the oligarchs' surnames were named. They usually fund someone. Did I have offers from most of them? Yes, I did. I was offered [support]," the mayor added.

According to him, it was not about financing:

"People offered to support, to help. To that I said: 'No, sorry, thank you, your help is not needed at the moment,'" Sadovyi notes.

However, he refused to name specific oligarchs' surnames:

"I will not name them because it would be incorrect on my part."

Asked what oligarchs wanted in return, the mayor of Lviv replied:

"And what do businessmen want from politicians in return? To buy some positions, or some other preferences. I don't know, because I did not enter into negotiations. To the offer of support I said: 'Thank you, it's not needed at the moment.' 'Ok, no questions,'" Sadovyi said.

According to the Lviv mayor, the Samopomich campaign was financed mainly by people from the party list:

"Mostly—people who were on the list. Someone gave more, someone less. Some amount was given by Ivan Miroshnychenko, Hanna Hopko. Actually everyone according to their means. There were a small number of outside people who gave small amounts," Sadovyi noted.
