Mayor of Lviv since 2006 — "unchanged" amid investigations by the State Bureau of Investigation, Security Service searches, and a millionaire wife

Born in 1968 in Lviv. Founder and leader of the Samopomich party. Mayor of Lviv since 2006 — the longest-serving mayor of a regional center in Ukraine. In 2019, he ran for president, receiving 2.47% of the vote. Laureate of the "City Genius" award — although the investigative journalistic film of the same name about corruption in his circle won an award at the National Journalism Investigations Competition.

The State Bureau of Investigation is probing the sale of 23.5 hectares, Security Service searches at the city hall, and wife’s 13 million UAH income

In 2023: the State Bureau of Investigation opened an investigation regarding possible abuse of office by Sadovyi in the case of illegal sale of a 23.5-hectare plot in the "Riasne-2" industrial zone in 2015. In August 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in the Lviv City Council — a corruption scheme in city hall departments was dismantled. The court obliged the National Anti-Corruption Bureau to reopen the case concerning Sadovyi. 2024 declaration: his wife Kateryna declared an income of 13 million UAH, a Škoda Kodiaq, and a house; journalists accused the mayor of allowing Russians to hide assets in Lviv with his assistance. No suspicions have been officially announced against Sadovyi personally; he continues to hold office.
