Zelensky’s team named which airport will open first

Boryspil Airport is planned to open first in Ukraine, as soon as conditions allow for it.

This was emphasized by Andriy Sibiga, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, according to the president’s press service.

According to the Office of the President, Sibiga told representatives of the diplomatic corps during a meeting that Boryspil Airport was the first facility closed due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, but it will be the first facility to reopen.

As the deputy head of the presidential administration assured, the airport is to be opened "as soon as the security situation allows."

At the meeting with ambassadors, the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, also expressed confidence that Boryspil will soon host and dispatch aircraft.

"This return to elements of the world is possible because Ukraine has become stronger. Now we can ensure the security of this facility. Thanks to our Defense Forces and to our friends—your countries. And I am sure: the symbolic boarding passes you received at the entrance will soon become real," he added.

According to Boryspil International Airport CEO Oleksiy Dubrovvesky (Oleksiy Dubrevs’ky), the facility is ready to begin accepting aircraft within a month after the war ends. He made this statement as early as October this year.
