Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine overnight: there are strikes in Kharkiv

On the evening of 30 March, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones; according to monitoring communities, they were launched from the north and the south. Ukrainians were urged to stay in safe places. It soon became known that there were impacts in Kharkiv.

This was reported by KOVA. They reported an attack by UAVs.

"Residents of Kyiv region! There is a threat of drone attacks! Air defense forces are on alert. Go to shelters or other safe places and remain there until the all-clear," the message said.

Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak confirmed this information. He urged citizens to go to shelters.

"Russian terrorists are shelling Kharkiv from Belgorod region," Yermak said.

In addition, launches of Shahed drones were recorded from the south.

"More than 10 moped[s] from the north + launches of moped[s] from the south. Kharkiv is loud," local communities reported.

Later, Poltava region also warned of missile danger. In particular, Kremenchuk mayor Vitaliy Maletsky said there was increased danger and urged people not to ignore the air-raid alert.

"Do not ignore the air-raid alert! Take shelter! Increased danger!" Maletsky reported.

At the same time, reports online say that air defense also went off in Chernihiv region.

As of 23:22, KOVA reported that the danger had not passed, but the alert was still ongoing.

"Take care of yourself and your loved ones—do not leave shelters!" Kyiv region authorities urged.

In the first half hour of 31 March it became known that the air-defense system had activated in Dnipro. Local monitoring communities urged residents not to worry, saying, "our air defense is great."

Also, Kharkiv deputy Dmytro Mikisha reported that air defense was operating in the region.

"Our air defenses are working. It is very loud over Merefa! Please stay in safe places," Mikisha said.

Local communities noted that one enemy projectile was shot down.

Later, the Kharkiv prosecutor's office reported that there had been a strike in the city. The enemy fired at least 6 S-300 rockets, which, unfortunately, Ukrainian air defense cannot intercept.

"At 22:10 Russian occupying forces shelled our city. The shelling struck, among other areas, Novobavarsky district. At least 6 S-300-type rockets hit infrastructure facilities and private houses. As of 12 o'clock at night, there is no information about the injured or dead. Prosecutors, investigators, State Emergency Service personnel, and municipal services are now working on site. Facts of war crimes are being documented," the prosecutor's office stated.
