Head of Financial and Operational Risk Management Department Leaves the National Bank

The head of the Financial and Operational Risk Management Department has left the National Bank.

The National Bank has announced a competition for the position of Head of the Financial and Operational Risk Management Department, since 25 September Nadiia Meshchenko resigned from this position of her own accord.

This was reported by the regulator’s press service.

Nadiia Meshchenko led the department since October 2019, and overall she had worked at the NBU since 2015.

The head of this unit’s responsibilities include, in particular, organizing the Bank’s risk management system and ensuring the management of operational risks.

Recall that 21 September Ihor Bereza finished his work as Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Ukraine. The NBU has announced a competition.

In addition, on 8 September the NBU Board selected the winners of the competitive selection for the positions of directors of three departments, appointing Arsen Makarchuk as Director of the NBU’s Strategy and Development Department, Vladyslav Bednenko as Director of the Legal Department, and Halyna Kalachova as Director of Communications.

At extraordinary meetings on 22 July, 3 and 26 August respectively, the NBU Council terminated the powers of Deputy Governors Oleg Churi (due to the expiration of his term), Serhii Kholod and Roman Borysenko (both submitted resignations of their own accord). They were replaced by former Deputy Finance Minister Yurii Heletii, former Director of the Payment Systems and Innovative Development Department of the NBU Oleksii Shaban, and former head of legal coordination at the PrivatBank head office Yaroslava Matuzka, whose candidacies were submitted by the new head of the NBU, Shevchenko.
