Rinat Ahmetov proposes creating a "think tank" to overcome Ukraine's economic challenges.

He voiced such an idea yesterday at a meeting of representatives of large business with President Volodymyr Zelensky, convened to develop solutions to combat the coronavirus epidemic in the country.

This was told to LB.ua by the meeting participants themselves, and—in an exclusive comment—confirmed by Ahmetov himself: "Many people are talking about a global economic recession, and most likely a new global financial crisis is possible. For Ukraine, this is a very serious challenge; swift and effective decisions are needed. Because when, figuratively speaking, they (in the world) have a cough, we have pneumonia."

To overcome such problems, in his view, it is necessary to promptly create a "think tank"—a "powerful analytical center where the best minds from Ukraine and the world would be included." "I think big business is ready to pay for the work of such a center," he added.

Recall that at the meeting with Zelensky in March 16 about 15 Ukrainian businessmen were present, including Rinat Ahmetov, Ihor Kolomoyskyi, Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, Andriy Verevskiy, Serhiy Tygypko, Vladyslav Chechotkin, Leonid Klimov, Vitaliy Haiduk, Andriy Stavnytsker.
