Kaufman and Granovsky should apologize to officials and the public

Businessmen Alexander Granovsky and Boris Kaufman, who are considered the actual owners of the international airport "Odessa," should issue public apologies to officials and members of the public who have voiced reasoned arguments about the advisability and legality of returning the airport to city ownership.

This was stated by Vsevolod Goncharovsky, an activist with the initiative group for returning the Odessa airport, the Coordinating Council of Maidan Public Organizations.

"Facts about the illegal sale of a strategic facility, such as deliberate dilution of the city’s stake, unscrupulous fulfillment of sale conditions, as well as the connection of the airport’s actual owners Granovsky and Kaufman with the 'family' of Yanukovych, are by no means 'populist and groundless accusations' without legal basis, as representatives of the Odessa airport stated in the media," he noted, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

The activist reminded that at a meeting with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubko and Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pivovarov, the head of the Odesa regional state administration (OGA), Ihor Palytsa, publicly advocated returning the Odessa airport to communal ownership and reached out to the General Prosecutor of Ukraine regarding its alleged illegal sale.

"Thus, the Russian PR people for the airport consider the governor of Odesa Oblast to be 'paid off'," emphasizes Goncharovsky.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the leadership of LLC "International Airport Odessa" confirmed the planned completion date for the terminal: despite the lawsuit from the city administration, construction will be completed on schedule—in the second quarter of 2015 year.
