In Lviv a man fell ill near the recruitment center: a fake about his death spread on social media

In Lviv, a 53-year-old man suddenly felt unwell during mobilization activities near the Sykhiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. The man lay motionless on the asphalt, which led to posts on social media and Telegram channels claiming he had died. This was reported by Hlavkom.

Information about the dead man was also spread by Lviv City Council deputy from the Varta party and director of the Olesko Castle Museum, Ihor Zinkevych.

“They report the death of a man near the recruitment center in Sykhiv in Lviv. According to preliminary information, the man became ill during mobilization activities. Medics tried to resuscitate him, but they were unable to save him. His wife also became unwell at the scene and received assistance,” Ihor Zinkevych wrote.

The Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center categorically denied this information. They said that on 22 August the man was brought to the Sykhiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. The military commissariat noted that he is a former law enforcement employee.

After leaving service, men of the appropriate age who hold special ranks and, according to the law, are subject to military obligation remain on the military register. In the absence of lawful grounds for deferment, they can be called up for military service during mobilization on the same grounds as others.

The recruitment center said the man was sent for a military-medical examination. After leaving the territorial center’s premises, he, according to the agency’s version, tried to leave the escort, after which his condition suddenly worsened.

“An emergency medical team was called to the scene. The man was taken to one of Lviv’s medical facilities,” the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center said.

They emphasized that at the time of publication the man’s life and health were not in danger. He is under medical supervision, and further actions regarding him will be determined based on the results of medical examination and in accordance with current legislation.

Lviv City Council deputy Ihor Zinkevych, citing law enforcement, reported that a 53-year-old resident of Lviv district was hospitalized due to a sudden deterioration in condition and elevated blood pressure.

Law enforcement also questioned witnesses to the incident and took relevant statements from representatives of the recruitment and social support center. According to the police, at present neither party has any claims.

Recall that the Odesa District Administrative Court annulled the decision of the Military Medical Commission that had declared fit for service a reservist with a number of serious diagnoses and injuries. The basis for that decision were gross procedural violations during the medical examination.

Also, on the evening of 20 August in Lutsk, about thirty civilians attacked an alert team from the Volyn Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, which was trying to stop a car to check documents. As a result of the clash, two servicemen sustained bodily injuries and the service vehicle was heavily damaged.
