Ukrainians Shown Millionaires from "Servant of the People" Renting Apartments at State Expense: List

In April of this year 52 members of the Verkhovna Rada received compensation for housing rent; of them 25 deputies, according to their declarations, are millionaires.

At the same time, the largest number of millionaires renting housing at the state's expense turned out to be among the "Servant of the People" deputies, reports the Committee of Voters of Ukraine.

The following 19 "Servant of the People" members rent housing at the state's expense:

Oleksandr Trukhin – declared 21,7 million UAH.

Artem Kunaev – 9,9 million UAH.

Stepan Chernyavskyi – 9,6 million UAH.

Pavlo Yakymenko – 9,4 million UAH.

Oleksandr Saliichuk – 8,6 million UAH.

Yevhen Petrunyak – 7 million UAH.

Oleksii Kovalev – 6,9 million UAH.

Fedor Venislavskyi – 6,8 million UAH.

Bohdan Torokhtyi – 6,4 million UAH.

Andrii Kostin – 4, 8 million UAH.

Oleksandr Aliksiichuk – 4,3 million UAH.

Hennadii Kasai – 4,1 million UAH.

Oleksandr Horobets – 2,9 million UAH.

Anna Lychman – 2,6 million UAH.

Artem Chernomorov – 2,5 million UAH.

Maksym Zuev – 2 million UAH.

Eduard Proshchuk – 1,9 million UAH.

Dmytro Naletov – 1,6 million UAH.

Olena Kopanchuk – 1,2 million UAH.

The millionaire deputies who receive housing compensation together declared funds totaling 162 million UAH.

Among the five richest deputies who rent housing at state expense, besides Trukhin, Kunaev and Chernyavskyi from "Servant of the People," are also Anatolii Urbanskyi from the For the Future group (19,7 million UAH) and Oleh Meidych from All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" (9,8 million UAH).

"These figures show that every second deputy who receives compensation for housing rent is a millionaire. This means such deputies could independently pay for living in Kyiv without receiving budget funds. For example, in April 1,2 million UAH was spent on rental housing for deputies (an average of 20 thousand UAH per deputy). At the same time, overall spending figures fell in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 107 deputies received funds for housing rent, for which 2,3 million UAH was spent," said KIU chair Oleksii Koshel.

For reference.

By millionaires are meant deputies whose declarations indicate cash assets of more than one million hryvnias. This refers to cash on hand as well as funds held in bank accounts.

At the same time, the sum does not include funds that are the property of a deputy's wife or husband, nor are borrowed funds counted.

In addition, amounts indicated in foreign currency were converted to hryvnia for the calculations.
