Rada creates Temporary Special Commission to investigate causes of Crimea’s occupation

The Verkhovna Rada has created a Temporary Investigation Commission (TIC) to investigate the causes of the occupation of Crimea.

The Verkhovna Rada created a temporary investigative commission that will investigate the causes of the Crimean occupation in 2014 year. Work on its creation lasted for 2 year.

Representatives of Servant of the People, Batkivshchyna, and OPZhZ entered the TIC. The term of its authority is 1 year. The creation of this commission was supported by 229 lawmakers.

The initiator of the TIC is legislator from Servant of the People, Yelyzaveta Bohutska. The investigative commission will investigate facts of assistance by the state and local authorities of Russia during the occupation of Crimea in 2014 year.

The head of the TIC became the Servant of the People member Ihor Kopytin, and his deputy is Grigory Nemirin, a deputy from Batkivshchyna. The TIC also included:

Yelyzaveta Bohutska (Servant of the People);

Oleh Voloshyn (OPZhZ);

Andriy Zdorozhnyi (Servant of the People);

Yuriy Zdebskyi (Servant of the People);

Yevheniya Kravchuk (Servant of the People);

Lyudmyla Marchenko (Servant of the People);

Valeria Sternychnuk (Servant of the People);

Sergey Shvets (Servant of the People).

No later than half a year from the date of creation, i.e., by 1 August 2022 year, the TIC must report on the work done in investigating the causes of the occupation of Crimea in 2014 year.
