Fired head of Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration made a scandalous statement

Former head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration Dmytro Habinet criticized attempts by the Office of the President to control other branches of government. The ex-official said this on the air of a local TV channel.

“The separation of powers in Ukraine has been destroyed. In fact, we have two Cabinets of Ministers. Not even that – there is a Cabinet at Bankova (the Office of the President) and there is an authority called the Cabinet of Ministers that follows certain directives given at Bankova. I can confirm this from my own experience,” he said. In addition, Dmytro Habinet stated that while serving as head of the regional administration he disagreed with the then personnel policy regarding representatives of the previous authorities.

“There was a clear position that the positions of heads of district state administrations could not be occupied by people who had ties to the previous authorities. Although I believed that was wrong. After all, if a person worked honestly and performed a certain role during Poroshenko’s presidency, why can’t they receive a leadership position under President Zelensky.

But already today they have begun appointing new heads of regional state administrations who worked under the previous authorities. People should be judged by their deeds,” the former regional leader noted.
