Knowing about the “hole” of $27 billion, money was spent on a marathon and cashback — Zheleznyak asked Zelensky a question about funding shortfall for the Armed Forces

In Ukraine, the defense forces' funding deficit has reached 27 billion dollars, and funds earmarked for the Ministry of Defense have already been exhausted. Because of the “hole” in the budget, there are questions to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about inefficiencies in state spending and the failure to meet obligations to the EU.

Next, he poses four public questions both to the president and to his deputies:

“What part of this is news? When voting for the budget 2026, and for its amendment, I and other colleagues spoke about it directly. There is a hole there and it is unrealistic. Especially regarding soldiers’ salaries,” the deputy reminds.{

“Given such a problem, how could funds have been spent on a marathon, an eye-catching PR stunt, cashback, distribution of 1500 hryvnias, and even the ‘thousand-year’ something???,” he continues.

“Who will bear personal responsibility for the fact that we currently have almost 8 billion euros in commitments to the EU that have not been fulfilled? And we will not receive these funds,” Zheleznyak adds.

“Who will bear responsibility for the work of the law-enforcement committee for the rejection of immediately 5 laws under which funding is tied (including this year)?” he asks.

According to Zheleznyak, the president should answer these questions. Not appear at the end of the 3-th quarter of the year and say suddenly they realized about the hole of 27 billion dollars.

Earlier, Zelensky stated that the defense forces' funding deficit stands at $27 billion, and the Ministry of Defense used the earmarked funds.
