Svyrydenko Appointed Head of KSE Business School: Milovanov Says He’s “Happy”

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko has become president of KSE Business School. Her appointment was announced by the president of the Kyiv School of Economics, Tymofii Milovanov, who reacted emotionally to the personnel decision.

“Yuliia Svyrydenko is president of KSE Business School as of today. I am happy,” Milovanov wrote.

According to him, the Kyiv School of Economics plans to strengthen the development of business education and create a world-class business school in Ukraine. This direction, after Svyrydenko’s appointment, is to become one of KSE’s priorities.

Milovanov also cited the university’s indicators to explain the institution’s ambitions. He said KSE has strong applicant results, and among its students there are graduates with maximum NMT scores and participants in Olympiads.

The KSE president specifically mentioned the school’s research direction and said the institution has already become a concentration point for strong specialists. The next stage, he said, should be a more active development of KSE Business School.

Milovanov also anticipated possible objections to Svyrydenko’s appointment. He suggested critics might raise issues of conflict of interest, the level of compensation, and her lack of traditional academic experience.

“We look for and attract the best in Ukraine. And we give them the freedom to create and work,” he said.

Svyrydenko had cooperated with KSE before. She was an honorary professor of practice and a guest lecturer at the business school, and her profile was posted on the institution’s website.
