Budanov explained what to expect from negotiations to end the war

Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov said that the negotiation process aimed at ending the war has been “revived.” At the same time, he said, there are currently no fundamentally new proposals from the American side, but the parties continue to look for new approaches to resolving existing problems. As Hlavkom reports, Budanov said this in a comment to the outlet Novyny.Live on the sidelines of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

“As you can see, as I recently said, we had to revive this process, and we revived it,” the head of the Office of the President said.

He said the American side has not yet presented fundamentally new ideas for ending the war. At the same time, negotiation approaches continue to be updated.

“There are no radically new ideas yet, but they are being updated and we are looking for new approaches to solving old problems, so to speak,” Budanov said.

At the same time, the head of the Office of the President warned that Russian attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles will continue. “They will continue,” he said, commenting on further strikes by Shaheds and other drones.

Budanov also said that in the run-up to the elections in Russia the hostilities could become “as intense as possible,” although, he added, it is still difficult to predict how events will develop afterward.

“Until the elections it will be as intense as possible, then we’ll see, but they will continue,” the head of the Office of the President said.

He called the current situation a “new reality” that Ukraine has already encountered and continues to fight.

“A new reality that we have faced and are fighting, and I think we will find a solution,” Budanov said.

When asked when life would become quieter and easier for Ukrainians, the head of the Office of the President answered briefly: “Everyone will see.”

Earlier, former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna recounted the nicknames American negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff received in Russian political circles. According to her, the Russians call President Donald Trump’s representatives “Zyatok” and “Vitok.”

Witkoff and Kushner first arrived in Ukraine 6 September. Their visit took place the day after talks in Moscow, where Trump’s representatives spoke with Putin for more than three hours.

Recall that after the talks Witkoff reported “substantial progress” and said there had been movement on planning additional trilateral negotiations. Kushner, for his part, said that Trump instructed his representatives to put together a package of proposals to end the war.
