President of FC “Kharkiv” and subject in the “Carthage” case Bohdan Boyko likely left Ukraine: what is known?

The president of the football club Kharkiv, Bohdan Boyko, who is named in the materials of the anti-corruption operation by NABU and SAP, “Carthage,” likely did not return to Ukraine after departing the country. This was stated by blogger Ihor Lachen.

According to him, Boyko, whom Lachen calls the coordinator of call centers within the Carthage operation, “has not returned to Ukraine.” The information was published by Dynamomania on September 16, citing a post by Lachen. At the same time, independent confirmation of Boyko’s non-return is currently absent.

As Zdkaralo Tyzhnya reported, Boyko is referenced in case materials through his communication with Serhiy Kropyva – deputy head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Office of the Prosecutor General. According to the investigation, Kropyva could have been involved in “covering up” a network of fraudulent call centers.

The case materials include records of conversations between Boyko and Kropyva. In particular, in March and May 2026 of the year they discussed the operation of call centers, specific addresses, international legal instruments, and potential procedural actions.

According to SAP, during one of the conversations 6 in May, Boyko was in Lisbon, where he was conducting negotiations regarding a football team. The investigation also stated that Kropyva could have advised Boyko on how to behave during interrogations and possible searches at the call centers.

At the same time, Bohdan Boyko himself denies any involvement in illegal activity and in fraudulent call centers. In his official statement he emphasized that the mere mention of his name in criminal case materials or the existence of fragments of conversations is not proof of guilt.

Boyko also stated that he is not aware of violations established by state supervisory bodies against his financial company that would confirm its involvement in fraud or illegal operations. He urged evaluating the situation based on documents, facts, and decisions of competent authorities.

At present, the assertion that Boyko did not return to Ukraine remains information spread by Lachen. Official statements from law enforcement regarding his status or whether he is abroad have not been found in open sources.
