Lawmakers say there were “interesting meetings” between Fedorov and representatives of the UAE — this is what they want to learn at the Rada's HSC

The head of the temporary investigative committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksiy Honcharenko, 22 said in September that among the questions that interest the deputies are "interesting meetings" between former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov and representatives of the UAE. The former minister has not yet responded to the committee's invitation regarding corruption, and these and other circumstances are what the committee members want to clarify at the upcoming meeting.

Honcharenko wrote about it in his Telegram channel. The parliamentarian enumerated a number of facts that, in his words, relate to Fedorov's conduct after his resignation as defense minister.

"By the way, here are some more interesting facts: Mykhailo is mustering the will not to attend the HSC meeting, pseudo-reserved a position at a charitable foundation, violates the foundation's operating norms, and has also redirected the budget from military salaries to purchases," wrote Honcharenko.

The lawmaker also described Fedorov's meetings with UAE representatives as deserving the committee's attention. Honcharenko has previously stressed multiple times that the former minister ignores official calls from parliament, despite active public activity abroad.

The committee is investigating possible violations in the defense sphere.

The Verkhovna Rada's temporary investigative committee, chaired by Honcharenko, is investigating possible breaches of legislation in the defense and anti-corruption spheres, as well as the observance of human rights during martial law. The summons of Fedorov was prompted by the 'Midas' operation, which the NABU disclosed in November of last year.

Since resigning as head of the defense ministry, the former minister has been actively engaging in public activity, criticizing state administration and alleging corruption in the country. At the same time, he has still never personally appeared at any HSC meeting, despite repeated official invitations.

Earlier, Informator reported that Fedorov had returned from the United States and named the priorities of his Defense Tech foundation, which plans to launch soon together with donors and venture funds. We also wrote that the HSC confirmed that Fedorov is indeed reserved at the charitable foundation 'East Europe,' and these circumstances became one of the grounds for the committee's investigation.
