Russia attacked Odesa — medical and educational institutions, residential buildings damaged

During the night 24 of September, Russia launched an attack on Odesa, damaging medical and educational facilities as well as dozens of residential buildings. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties among people, and all relevant services are working at the scene. Operational staffs are being deployed to help residents of the damaged houses.

Head of the Odesa City Military Administration (OMA) Serhiy Lysak reported on the consequences of the night attack. He said that the strike damaged the roof and a portion of the top floor of a medical facility, and windows were blown out in the school and ten adjacent apartment buildings.

“During the night, the enemy attacked the city. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” said Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

City utilities worked at the site since the night. The street has already been cleared, and damaged window openings in the residential area have been sealed. Residents of the affected buildings are receiving consultations on compensation for damaged property under the state program “eRecovery” and the city program “Unbreakable Odesa,” and specialists are helping people prepare the necessary documents.

Details of the attack and full information about its consequences as of the morning 24 of September are still being clarified. The Odesa City Military Administration promises to provide updated information as the services complete the inspection of the damaged facilities.

Earlier, Informator reported that a hit on a shopping center in the Odesa district caused a large fire, which was extinguished by more than 60 rescuers from two regions, and there were no casualties among those injured at the time.
