Ukrainian Stars Who Married Foreigners: From Millionaire to Athletes and Models

Many Ukrainian celebrities have started families with foreigners and have lived for years between several countries. Among their partners are businessmen, athletes, models, dancers, and people who generally avoid the public eye.

TV host Ivanna Onufriychuk has been married for several years to millionaire Almaz Alesenov, who is from Kazakhstan. They met in 2018 year in Spain, and 2021-th they held two weddings — in the Maldives and in Ukraine.

The couple is raising a two-year-old son Adam and is expecting a second child. The family lives in Switzerland, where Alesenov runs a business, while Onufriychuk periodically returns to Ukraine for work.

Katerina Buzhynska has been married for over ten years to Bulgarian businessman Dimitar Stoychev. In spring 2026 year the couple celebrated 12-th wedding anniversary.

The couple has 9-year-old twins, Kateryna and Dmytro. The children study in Bulgaria, while the singer herself regularly travels to Ukraine for concerts and work projects.

Olesia Shoptenko married for the third time in 2026 year. Her partner is Austrian Kristian Kairos, who works in security and crisis management and also runs his own consulting company.

The couple met through work about four and a half years ago. They held their wedding at a historic location in Austria, and had long concealed their relationship before that.

Olena Kharlan has been together with Italian fencer Luigi Samuele for several years. They became engaged in September 2024 year, and in June 2026-th they first became parents — they had a daughter named Arianna.

So far the couple is not rushing to marry. The family lives in Italy, although Kharlan had previously regularly visited Ukraine.

Iryna Saponaru married British man Reese Bainham in May 2024 year. The wedding took place in Kyiv, and a separate ceremony was held in Ukrainian style.

The couple met back in 2021 year, and in May 2023-th Reese proposed to the actress. He has long lived and worked in Ukraine and learned Ukrainian language after a few months.

Singer KOLA, real name Anastasia Prudus, secretly married Vyacheslav in 2023 year. He is from Dnipro but emigrated to Israel in childhood and now lives there.

The singer's husband works in medicine and runs his own business. The couple effectively lives across two countries, and KOLA rarely shows her husband in public.

Alina Grosu is married to Russian actor Roman Poliansky. In spring 2024 year she announced a second marriage, but hid her husband’s face in wedding photos.

Later the couple had a son, Mark-Gabriel. Now Grosu lives in Ukraine with her husband and child and has explained that she wants their son to grow up in a large family and be connected to Ukrainian culture.

Alla Kostromichova has been married for over ten years to American-Italian businessman Jason Capone. The couple raises two children and does not frequently show their personal life on social media.

Kostromichova said she met her future husband at a dinner, and about ten days later moved in with him. For a long time the family lived in the United States, and since 2020 year they have lived in Puerto Rico.

Max Chmerkovskiy started a family with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who has Australian-American origins. The couple, with 2012 year, got engaged in 2015-th, and held their wedding in 2017 year in the United States.

The couple is raising three sons — Shaya, Rio, and Milan. This year the family moved from California to Florida and continues to work together in the dance field.

Andriy Shevchenko has been married to American model Kristen Pazik for more than 20 years. She was born in Minneapolis, has Polish roots, and met her future husband in 2001 year.

This year the couple celebrated their 22-th wedding anniversary. Shevchenko and Pazik are raising four sons and currently live in the United Kingdom, while Shevchenko himself frequently visits Ukraine on business trips.
