Poor things… The richest pensioner of the Verkhovna Rada declared new “astronomical” payments. And he wants even more

76-year-old People's Deputy from the group “Platform for Life and Peace” and retired Constitutional Court judge Vasyl Nimchenko disclosed high pension payments.

This was reported by Glavcom with reference to the register of declarations.

Over two days, 14 and 15 October, the Main Department of the Pension Fund in Kyiv transferred two pension installments to the lawmaker’s account: 296,4 thousand UAH and 333,6 thousand UAH.

It is worth emphasizing: in addition to the above payments, the elected official Vasyl Nimchenko declared a monthly pension of 192,1 thousand UAH. In total, over 2025 year(s) there accrued 2,3 million UAH in pension.

Earlier Glavcom reported that in May of this year Nimchenko filed a lawsuit with the Kyiv District Administrative Court. The politician is seeking a substantial increase in the monthly lifetime monetary allowance as a retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (his judicial powers were terminated on 19 October 2005 year).

According to the plaintiff, the Main Department of the Pension Fund in Kyiv should calculate his monthly lifetime monetary allowance based on 90% of the remuneration of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, not 50% as it is currently. Therefore Nimchenko wants the court to recognize the actions of the Kyiv Main Department of the Pension Fund as unlawful and to recalculate payments from 11 March 2020 year. This court case is currently ongoing.

Additionally, Vasyl Nimchenko is the record-holder among current People's Deputies for receiving the largest pension.
