Atamanyuk Yurii Anatoliyovych

Former Ukrainian senior official, Major General of the Tax Police of Ukraine, Candidate of Economic Sciences, and "Honored Economist of Ukraine"

Born in 1974 in Vinnytsia, he earned three higher education degrees, including from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. For over 20 years, he built his career exclusively in fiscal and law enforcement agencies, where during President Viktor Yanukovych's tenure he rose to the position of First Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Tax Police of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (2010–2012). In May 2015, he was officially lustrated with a ban on holding government positions for 10 years, after which he publicly positioned himself as the First Vice President of the Taxpayers Association of Ukraine and a regular economic expert on television.

A trail of high-profile financial and reputation scandals.

The media repeatedly called Atamanyuk a "schemer" of the Oleksandr Klymenko era, and investigations by StopCor and Bihus.Info revealed elite VIP assets worth over 3 million USD in the family of the dismissed general. These include luxurious palaces by the water in elite Kozyn and Romankiv settlements near Kyiv, commercial properties, large land plots, as well as elite apartments totaling 379 sq. m. on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard in the capital, registered to his wife Olena and his 81-year-old retired father. Additionally, by 2026, the family's personal car fleet was replenished with new Toyota Land Cruiser 2025 and Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS 600 vehicles. Additional resonance was caused by the official letter published in the media from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to the State Customs Service, according to which Polish customs officials recorded an attempt by the ex-official at the beginning of the full-scale invasion to secretly export undeclared cash amounting to nearly 3 million US dollars to Poland. Also, in 2020, Atamanyuk was involved in a political scandal due to regular appearances on Belarusian state TV, where he supported Oleksandr Lukashenko and publicly criticized Ukrainian presidents.
