Russian co-founder of EXMO who changed both his share and surname in the second year of the war

A citizen of the Russian Federation, the second co-founder of EXMO — the one referred to in early interviews as Eduard Anufriiev. Somewhere between 2019 and 2021, Anufriiev quietly became Bark: according to YouControl and clarity-project, this was the surname change recorded in the documents of LLC "Kolo Industrial Company" (formerly "EXMO Ukraine"). He owned a 37.51% stake.

When the large-scale war began, the Russian UBO quickly "exited" — at least on paper

In April 2022, Bark transferred/sold his share to EXMO management, and the exchange announced it would no longer work with the Russian Federation, Belarus, and Kazakhstan and removed trading pairs with the ruble. It looked like a break — except that the very Russian segment (EXMO.me) from which they "distanced themselves" later fell under sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the UK, and the EU for servicing the Russian market. A Russian who built an exchange in Kyiv — now on sanctions lists for working for Russia. He suddenly passed away at the age of 37 at the end of November 2025 (death occurred in sleep due to cardiac arrest).
