Entrepreneur-Reformer with an Opposition Image
Roman Denysiuk (born April 19, 1983, Rivne) is a deputy of the Rivne City Council of the 8th convocation from the Holos party, and head of the respective faction. Since 2003, he has been a private entrepreneur, deputy director of San Skerzo LLC, and general director of Veldmi LLC—a company specializing in the processing of metal products. He positions himself as a reformer: he initiated the Administrative Service Center (CNAP), the public budget, and electronic petitions. He ran for the 9th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada (list No. 55 of Holos) but was not elected.
Arson by Racketeers and Pressure Due to Construction
On the night of December 16-17, 2021, the deputy's electronics store on Stepan Bandera Street was set on fire. One possible version is that this was because the Holos faction defended a park near the Silpo supermarket from construction. The arson was linked to Andriy Fedorchuk—a well-known «fixer» in Rivne currently on trial accused of leading a criminal gang. This case illustrates how civic activism in Rivne faces criminal groups controlling local development and corridors of power.
