Dubina Oleg Viktorovych

Oleh Dubyna is one of the key figures in the most dramatic gas conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Born on March 20, 1959, in the village of Yelyzavetivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from Dniprodzerzhynsk Industrial Institute (1982) and Dniprodzerzhynsk State Technical University (1999). Candidate of Technical Sciences. In 2001–2002, he was the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine. From December 24, 2007, to March 2, 2010, he was the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine. Member of Parliament of the 5th convocation from the People's Bloc of Lytvyn.

The 2009 gas crisis and the signing of the controversial contract

It was during Dubyna's leadership in January 2009 that Russia cut off gas supplies to Ukraine and Europe. Dubyna, together with Tymoshenko, negotiated with Gazprom and signed the gas contract — an agreement that later became the subject of sharp debates due to unfavorable terms for Ukraine and became part of the Tymoshenko case. After his resignation in 2010, Dubyna effectively disappeared from the public sphere.

First Deputy of Naftogaz involved in a case over UAH 200 million

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv considered the case against the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Pereloma, accused of embezzling over UAH 200 million together with the top management of OPZ. The case was heard behind closed doors.
