Person information
Crimean businessman with ideas of the “Russian world” and a bank through a front British citizen
Yevhen Kazmin is a native of Luhansk region, co-owner of the KVV Group holding (scrap metal collection and processing, construction) and the actual owner of ComInBank. Officially, the bank is registered to British investor Stefan Paul Pinter—but numerous sources, including Kazmin’s former head of legal service Anatoliy Mazur, claim this is a nominee.
Arrested by the SBU for financing separatism
On April 28, 2016, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained Kazmin on suspicion of financing separatism in Crimea: after the annexation, he continued to conduct business on the occupied peninsula and paid taxes to the Russian Federation budget. The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv arrested him at the SBU’s request. He was released in September 2016. During his detention in the pre-trial detention center, the Supervisory Board of ComInBank terminated his powers—but according to media reports, his actual control did not disappear.
FSB, money laundering, and disappearance from the radars
Kazmin is an ideological supporter of the “Russian world” and publicly did not hide his ties with Russia. According to the media, he launders criminal funds from the Russian Federation with the support of the FSB. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he disappeared from the public space. No officially profitable businesses are registered to him in Ukraine—companies in Sevastopol with a statutory capital of 400 UAH, assets have been re-registered to his daughter Valeriya.
