Deputy Director of the VIP Department at Ukrgasbank — endorsed fictitious certificates of completed works

Olena Khmelenko is one of the five individuals involved in the case of embezzling 206 million UAH from Ukrgasbank. She endorsed certificates of work performed and facilitated payments to fictitious "agents" — sole proprietors registered immediately before the tender and terminated their activities right after receiving the money.

Disappeared prior to suspicion notification, whereabouts unknown

Khmelenko was notified of suspicion in early October 2022 through a special procedure because her whereabouts were already unknown. Ukrgasbank suspended her from the position on October 10, 2022 — alongside Deputy Chairman of the Board Chernyshov. The bank stated that they do not know where they are.

The case is being investigated together with proceedings concerning Shevchenko, Chernyshov, and other involved parties — all of whom ignore investigative summons and are outside of Ukraine.
