Three convictions

The first sentence Komysa received was in 1996 — convicted for the rape of a minor and involving minors in criminal activities, he was sentenced to 5.5 years and served his sentence in a correctional colony in Vilnyansk. After release, he was accused of banditry, manufacturing and distributing drugs, and illegal possession of weapons — he received 6 years in a maximum-security colony, served time in Orekhovo and Druzhlyubka, and was released early in 2012.

FOREX MMCIS and $700 million

Since 2007, Komysa promoted the FOREX MMCIS group, and in September 2014 became its head. Within a few months, investors massively complained about the inability to withdraw funds. The company was liquidated on November 21, 2015. Analysts estimate the illegal turnover to be no less than $700 million; hundreds of thousands of investors lost money.

Front figure Kondakov and Volkov

The real owners of FOREX MMCIS group are named as Kostyantyn Kondakov and Oleksandr Volkov — the latter is connected to Poroshenko and ran for office from his party. According to experts, Komysa was only a front person, appointed president precisely at the moment when the fate of the pyramid scheme was already decided. He avoided criminal prosecution — proceedings against him were soon closed without stating reasons.

Accomplice in Ivanisov case

In the fall of 2019, media established that Komysa was an accomplice of MP Ivanisov in the 1995 rape. According to case materials, Komysa was the initiator of the crime. Since 2019, he appeared on social media with statements about his readiness to hand over documents regarding the true organizers of MMCIS — the matter went no further.
