From KVN to Power
Yurii Yuriiovych Kostiuk — Deputy Head of the Office of President Zelensky from May 21, 2019, to July 9, 2021. After leaving the Office, he became an external advisor and speechwriter to the president.
Since 2011 — screenwriter for Zelensky's "Kvartal 95 Studio." He participated in writing "Svaty-5," "8 First Dates," "Mitiai's Tales," "Servant of the People" (2015–2019). During the 2019 presidential election, he was responsible for all media and creative aspects of the campaign — videos, advertising billboards, campaign materials for the "ZeTeam."
In the Office of the President
In May 2019, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration under Andriy Bohdan and retained his position after Andriy Yermak became Head of the Office of the President. Essentially, from the start of his work in the Office, he acted as Zelensky's speechwriter — preparing speeches, addresses, and texts for significant dates.
Unsuccessful Attempt at the "Suspilne" Competition
In spring 2021, he planned to participate in the competition for the position of head of "Suspilne" (Public Broadcasting Company) but was not admitted due to incomplete documents submitted past the deadline.
On July 9, 2021, Zelensky dismissed Kostiuk from the position of Deputy Head of the Office of the President and simultaneously appointed him as an external advisor to the president. The transition from a position with real authority to the status of "external advisor" without explanation remained without public comment from the Office of the President.
