Media magnate of Medvedchuk wanted internationally for treason, financing terrorism, and selling oil to the "DPR/LPR"

In 2001–2003 — First Deputy Head of the State Tax Administration of Lviv region. Member of Parliament of the VIII convocation from the "Opposition Bloc" (2014) and IX convocation from OPZZh (2019). A close associate of Medvedchuk since the early 2000s — Deputy Head of his NGO "Legal State Center." Owner of the TV channels "112 Ukraine," NewsOne, and ZIK — which broadcast pro-Russian narratives and "peace with Russia." Declared UAH 237 million income from a Cypriot company in 2019.

Oil for terrorists, treason, in absentia arrest, and wife with Russian passport

On February 2, 2021 — the first case in Ukraine's history of personal sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council against a sitting MP: for selling petroleum products to the terrorist organizations "LPR" and "DPR." On May 20, 2021, the Security Service of Ukraine obtained a court permit for detention; on April 7, 2022, Kozak was arrested in absentia without the right to bail. He is internationally wanted — likely in Belarus or Russia. His common-law wife, Natalia Lavrenyuk, is a Russian citizen; after sanctions, she changed her name to "Svitlana Zhuchkova." Most of Kozak's business and property have been transferred to her. In 2022, the United States imposed separate sanctions for "assisting Kremlin political objectives." OCCRP established that Kozak earned millions from the sale of an oil field in the Russian Federation. Bellingcat named him a Russian agent.
