Kozak Vyacheslav Ivanovych

Vyacheslav Kozak is a financier with an atypical background for the Ukrainian public sector. From April 2001 to September 2004, he headed the Debt and Credit Products Department for CIS countries at the investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. From September 2004 to April 2010, he was the head of the Credit Suisse Group AG representation in Ukraine.

Ten months under Yanukovych

On April 28, 2010, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of JSC "State Savings Bank of Ukraine". On March 10, 2011, he resigned at his own request. Less than a year leading a systemically important state bank — and a quiet exit. It was during this period that Yanukovych actively promised to return Soviet-era deposits, but the budget never allocated funds for this. 

Arrested funds of Yanukovych's circle in Oschadbank

According to Minfin.com.ua, arrested assets totaling about UAH 247.4 million, linked to Yanukovych's circle, were placed on deposit in Oschadbank — this concerns money laundering by officials of the All-Ukrainian Development Bank. Kozak was no longer formally managing the bank at the time these schemes were uncovered, but the mentioned assets had been accumulated precisely in the institution under his control.

Eight companies and a closed biography

According to YouControl, Kozak is the founder of eight organizations and the head of nine. Public information about his activities after leaving Oschadbank is practically absent in open sources. A person with a background in Swiss investment banking, who headed a state bank immediately after Yanukovych came to power and then quietly disappeared — remains a figure with many gaps in his biography.
