Chairman of the Board and shareholder of a bank with toxic clients
Yurii Kralov has worked at MTB Bank since 1998, and since 2017 he has been the chairman of the board and owner of 10% of the shares. The bank is the legal successor of “Marfin Bank” and is controlled by Cypriot structures associated with French banker Hamed Alihani and Odessa deputy Mykhailo Partikevych.
“Dozor-B” documentation sold to Poland for next to nothing
One of the loudest scandals was the resale of technical documentation for the “Dozor-B” armored vehicle to the Polish company MISTA for $200,000 — despite a market value of millions. The vice president of MISTA turned out to be Oleksii Huzev, who is connected with Odessa companies from the Partikevych group. The bank also controls the Cypriot company Lacenaire Limited, which owns MISTA. The Ukrainian army never received the armored vehicle.
Guarantees for a company suspected of financing terrorism
MTB Bank issued financial guarantees to Amirhanyan’s companies — the actual owner of “Poltavabudtsentr,” who was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine in a case concerning financing of violent change of the constitutional order. Due to the guarantees, the company blocked road construction in 10 regions totaling up to UAH 20 billion.
MTB as a "laundering" scheme for gambling billions
According to a criminal proceeding related to MTB, from late 2022 to April 2024 more than UAH 10 billion in funds from illegal casinos passed through the bank and connected structures using a miscode scheme. The funds were withdrawn to crypto exchanges and through overseas services.
