$6 million in closets—and bags thrown out the window

In October 2024, the State Bureau of Investigations conducted searches at the office of the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC), Tetyana Krupa, and her son Oleksandr. Nearly $6 million in various currencies in cash was found scattered around the apartment in closets, drawers, and niches. During the search, Krupa threw two bags containing half a million dollars out the window. Forged medical documents with fake diagnoses for draft-age men were also seized.

"The magic of declaration": 60 million in a month

In February 2026, Krupa filed a revised declaration in which her husband Volodymyr's assets unexpectedly increased by UAH 58.9 million compared to the January version. The family's assets include 30 real estate properties, 9 luxury cars, two Porsche Cayennes, and real estate in Austria, Spain, and Turkey. Krupa's own salary is UAH 597,000 per year. Rolex watches and Dior earrings were confiscated by law enforcement.

Certificates for draft evaders—a business under official cover

Lists of draft-age men and forged medical documents with ready-made fake diagnoses were found in Krupa's office. Under her leadership, the Medical and Social Expert Commission turned into a service for evading mobilization. For money—disability certificates. For disability—apartments in Spain. While the army stands on the front line, the official traded exemptions from it.

High Anti-Corruption Court and 11 months under investigation

Krupa spent 11 months in a detention center. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau petitioned to extend her preventive measure. The court eventually replaced it with a bail of UAH 20 million. Her son Oleksandr—a former head of the Khmelnytskyi District State Administration and head of the Pension Fund—is also under investigation. The family’s hold on power turned out to be a family hold on corruption.
