Ivakhiv Stepan Petrovych
Businessman, politician
A sportsman and gasoline magnate
A well-known Ukrainian businessman, millionaire and sports official, who is co-owner of the powerful business group "Kontinium" and one of the largest networks of filling station complexes WOG, as well as having held the position of president of the Tennis Federation of Ukraine for a long time.
Lahur has remained in the spotlight of investigations for years due to a "heritage war" and shadow tender schemes
The main public scandal after the sudden death of his partner Ihor Yeremeyev: the widow of the deceased openly accused Lahur and Stepan Ivakhiv of exploiting the family’s shock and simply "seizing" their share in the WOG oil business, blocking the heirs’ access to assets through complicated offshore trusts. This saga resulted in large-scale court cases not only in Ukraine but also in the United Kingdom and Cyprus. Besides family disputes, investigative journalists repeatedly caught Lahur red-handed in fuel frauds: companies controlled by his group (in particular "Vog Aerodjet") became subjects of prosecutor's criminal cases over billion-scale schemes in fuel procurement for "Ukrzaliznytsia" and illegal transfer of millions abroad.
