26 million 'emergency' gas losses and a case closed due to statute of limitations

Oleh Mizik is a native of Chutivshchyna, who was Chairman of the Board of JSC ZaporizhzhiaGas—one of the key assets of Dmytro Firtash's group—from 2015 to 2023. In 2019, the Security Service of Ukraine accused him of abuse of office and official forgery: in 2014–2015, Mizik wrote off 3.9 million cubic meters of gas as 'emergency situations' valued at 26 million UAH. In reality, the gas was consumed by unknown contractors, and registration logs for emergency incidents contained falsified data. The case went to court, but already at the preparatory hearing, the defense filed a motion to dismiss due to expiration of the statute of limitations (over 4 years). The court granted this motion. Separately, ZaporizhzhiaGas itself refused to pursue the charges—and the proceedings were closed without a verdict.

From Firtash to Poltava: Cabinet of Ministers approved appointment

When ARMA took ZaporizhzhiaGas under management, Mizik was dismissed. He was appointed advisor at RivneOblgaz, and in February 2024—acting general director of PoltavaVodokanal by agreement between Poltava Regional State Administration head Pronin and MP Kulinich. He arrived at the new position in a 2023 Volkswagen Touareg, mentioning that his wife drives a Porsche Macan in the UK. In March 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers approved Mizik’s appointment as the first deputy head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.
