Sentenced to 15 years for stealing gas worth 3 billion UAH
People's Deputy of the 8th convocation; after his parliamentary immunity was lifted in 2016, he fled abroad, since 2021 — a citizen of the Russian Federation. Since June 22, 2025 — under sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Also known as the owner of an equestrian center in Germany and the source of scandalous "kompromat" on Poroshenko — he handed it over to Trump and American media; the Prosecutor General's Office established Onyshchenko’s connections with Russian special services.
15-year sentence and seizure of equestrian center in Germany
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) established that Onyshchenko, together with his mother Inesa Kadirova and businessman Valeriy Postny, organized a scheme to sell gas from the state enterprise "Ukrgasvydobuvannya" through controlled companies on pseudo-exchanges — state losses were estimated at over 3 billion UAH. Bypassing regulators, his companies obtained rights to develop two gas fields on the Black Sea and Azov Sea shelves. Onyshchenko himself claimed he paid MP Kononenko 2,000 UAH for every thousand cubic meters of gas. In April 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) sentenced him in absentia to 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of property. HACC imposed seizure on the equestrian center in Germany. His mother Kadirova was detained in Spain in 2017; her case is ongoing.
