Poroshenko Petro Oleksiyovych

Ex-president on trial for treason, sanctioned by the National Security and Defense Council and under American investigations

Born on September 26, 1965, in Bolhrad, Odesa region. Entrepreneur, founder of Roshen and the "Pryamyi" channel. Member of Parliament in several convocations - from different parties. Minister of Foreign Affairs (2009–2010), Minister of Trade and Economy (2012). The fifth President of Ukraine (2014–2019). After losing the election to Zelensky, leader of "European Solidarity" and MP of the 9th convocation. In October 2025, the court began substantive review of the case; in the USA, investigations are ongoing into Poroshenko’s involvement in schemes with Medvedchuk and Putin.

Treason worth 1.5 billion UAH, NSDC sanctions and 53 million from the Hungarian government

The criminal proceeding concerns the organization of a scheme for supplying coal from temporarily occupied territories and assisting the terrorist organizations "LPR" and "DPR" for about 1.5 billion UAH. The suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111, and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code was signed in December 2021; in February 2024, the State Bureau of Investigation completed the pre-trial investigation. In 2025, the National Security and Defense Council applied personal sanctions against Poroshenko: deprivation of state awards, asset blocking, trade restrictions, and capital withdrawal limitations. In October 2025, Poroshenko was accused of smuggling scrap metal to Transnistria; in August 2025, his declaration recorded enrichment of nearly 1 billion UAH; in October 2025, he received nearly 53 million UAH from the Hungarian government. The defense insists on political persecution; no verdict has been issued.
