Ex-MP seizes lands and water bodies in Kyiv region

A company associated with former Member of Parliament Hennadiy Rudenko attempted to seize land plots and water bodies in the Kyiv region. According to antikor.info, the scheme involved illegal privatization even of dams — strategic hydraulic structures that are not subject to privatization by law. Even dams — for sale.

Land in coastal zones and violations of water legislation

Among the objects of seizure were plots in coastal protective strips, where construction and privatization are explicitly prohibited by law. Registration of rights was carried out through controlled notaries and registrars. Water legislation is no obstacle if the right people are in the system.

Mandate as a shield and "issue resolution"

The parliamentary mandate gave Rudenko the opportunity to use his parliamentary status to pressure local authorities and law enforcement. The "MP — land — registrar" scheme became typical for Kyiv region: land is allocated under the guise of legal privatization, and the MP acts as a guarantor of impunity.

After losing the mandate — the schemes continue

Losing the mandate did not stop the seizures. Rudenko's companies continued attacks on objects in Kyiv region after the end of his parliamentary powers. Former status opens doors — and connections remain forever.
