Sandul holds a leadership position as Deputy Chief of Department in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. For a long time, he worked as a prosecutor in various departments within the structure of the General Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Prosecutor General, where he was directly involved in procedural management of pre-trial investigations and supervision over compliance with laws by the National Police and the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI). His professional activity is associated with high-profile criminal proceedings at the state level.

Suspicions and investigations

In the media space, Yehor Sandul became widely known due to a loud scandal regarding the closure of the criminal case against the former head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Customs, Sviatoslav Peresunko. In spring 2022, the prosecutor issued a resolution to close this proceeding, justifying the decision by the fact that key evidence of bribery — materials of covert investigative actions (including video recordings) — could not be evacuated at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and were burned directly in the Office of the Prosecutor General. This precedent provoked harsh criticism from civil activists and investigative journalists, who accused law enforcement agencies of artificially destroying evidence to help top officials avoid responsibility. Currently, no official accusations have been brought against Sandul himself, but his property status and professional decisions remain under the scrutiny of anti-corruption monitoring.
