Discrepancies Between the Official's Declaration and Lifestyle
In September 2026, Denys Shymon became the subject of a high-profile anti-corruption scandal. The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), following a comprehensive audit of his financial status, found signs of illegal enrichment amounting to 24.8 million hryvnias. Within the framework of a criminal proceeding and the procedure of disclosing banking secrecy, law enforcement agencies are investigating transactions on 18 bank accounts held by his family. According to detectives, the official attempted to conceal substantial amounts of undeclared currency, as well as an elite suburban spa hotel in Zakarpattia registered under his wife’s name, the value of which does not correspond in any way to the official income of the civil servant’s family. The audit materials have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for the official filing of suspicion.
