Sternenko Serhii Vyacheslavovych

Well-known activist and video blogger, former leader of the Odesa regional branch of the "Right Sector."

Since 2014, Sternenko has been attacked three times. Immediately after the first attack, he requested state protection from the police — they refused. After the second attack — they refused again. After the third — they promised protection but never provided it. In 2021, the Prymorskyi Court sentenced Sternenko and Ruslan Demchuk to 7 years and 3 months in prison with confiscation of half their property — for the kidnapping of deputy Shcherbych with the aim of seizing 300 hryvnias. The appeal softened the sentence to 1 year probation. Human rights activists and public organizations considered the case politically motivated.

Victim of three attacks and four criminal proceedings

In May 2018, during the third attack near his own home, Sternenko inflicted stab wounds on the attacker Kuznetsov, who died. The investigation charged him with intentional murder. In December 2023, the case was closed — the court found that the prosecution did not prove intent.
