Son of Prosecutor Heorhiy Svatok, who followed in his father's footsteps

Andriy is a hereditary prosecutor who has built a rapid career in the prosecutor’s offices. Since July 2025, he has held the position of head of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Prior to this appointment, he worked for a long time in the capital region, notably rising from assistant prosecutor of the Obolon district of Kyiv to first deputy head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Corruption scandals

In 2026, Andriy Svatok became a central figure in several high-profile corruption scandals. According to an investigation by journalists from Bihus.Info, Andriy Svatok and his wife purchased assets at prices significantly below market value. The prosecutor registered ownership of an elite apartment in a club house in the center of Kyiv with an area of 130 sq.m. for $90,000, while its real market value was about $180,000. Additionally, in 2023 his wife bought a Range Rover for $35,000 instead of the $55,000 declared in archived advertisements. The source of large amounts of cash was explained by the prosecutor as “gifts from two of his grandmothers” (aged 77 and 80), who jointly presented him with about $100,000.

Due to discovered discrepancies between his income and elite lifestyle, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) registered a criminal proceeding.
