Ukrainian Prosecutor with Many Years of Experience

Heorhii Svatok has dedicated over 40 years to working in the prosecution authorities. He began his career in September 1985 and since 2001 worked at the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine. Starting from January 2020, Heorhii Svatok held various leadership and administrative positions in the Office of the General Prosecutor, including serving as deputy head of one of the procedural management departments of the Department for Supervision over the State Bureau of Investigation. In June 2026, he filed a declaration before his dismissal.

Prosecutorial Dynasty

In the public sphere, Heorhii Svatok is primarily known as the founder of an influential prosecutorial dynasty. His name resurfaced in the media in September 2026 due to a high-profile corruption scandal involving his son — Andrii Svatok (head of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office). No direct official criminal charges have been filed against Heorhii Svatok himself so far, but investigative journalists and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) are actively examining the origins of the family's luxury assets. Among these under investigation are elite Kyiv real estate, a Range Rover, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, which were registered at undervalued prices or declared as "gifts from grandmothers," inconsistent with the official income of the prosecutor's family.
