Popular mayor of Khmelnytskyi from "Svoboda," nationalist historian

Historian, candidate of historical sciences, former teacher. Nationalist background: since age 18 — member of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists (headed the regional secretariat), since 2009 — member of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda." Deputy of Khmelnytskyi City Council (2010), first deputy and acting head of Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration (2014–2015). Since 2015 — mayor of Khmelnytskyi; re-elected in 2020 with a result of 86.83% — the highest among all regional centers of Ukraine. Consistently leads rankings of "most responsible mayors" and anti-corruption fighters; at one time, the BBC called him the country's most popular mayor ("toilets, football, and Facebook").

Minor accusations and Putin

There are no serious scandals associated with him. The tabloid dossier by ZNAY accused him of allegedly not declaring all family accounts in his declaration (in reality — 7 accounts in "PrivatBank" and 1 in "Credit Agricole," his wife has 4). At one time, the media ironized that the mayor appointed an adviser with the same last name named Volodymyr Putin — this is a coincidence of surname, not a connection to the Russian Federation.
