Former Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, leader of Samopomich
Person information
The first female Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, leader of "Samopomich", lawyer-reformer
A lawyer (Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Master's degree from the University of Ottawa), former director of the Ukrainian Legal Foundation, expert of the "Reanimation Package of Reforms" in judicial, constitutional, and administrative reforms. Member of Parliament of the VIII convocation from the "Union "Samopomich"" (No. 4, non-partisan), in 2014–2019 — Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, the first woman in this position. Since 2019, she has headed the "Samopomich" party (replacing Sadovyi), currently Vice President of the Kyiv School of Economics. Known for a tough stance against the law on the "special status of Donbas" and analysis of the cultivation of pro-Russian sentiments in Crimea.
Declarations and tabloid accusations
In November 2018, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) referred protocols to court for false declaration (audit of declarations for 2015–2017); the declarations included, among other things, expensive paintings by artist Vlad Ralko. The tabloid dossier from ZNAY attributed to her lobbying a "land scheme" in favor of Kyiv deputy Husovskyi (whom "Samopomich" expelled for land schemes) — this is an unverified accusation.
