ANTIKOR
Radical Ukrainian nationalism with an emphasis on statehood, military strength, and national identity.
The political force "Right Sector" has a nationalist orientation and was formed as an association of activists and public figures who participated in political and military processes in Ukraine. Historically, its origins are connected with the activities of nationalist movement organizations, in particular, the "Ukrainian National Assembly" party was registered as early as 1994, which became one of the predecessors of the modern structure.
In 2014, "Right Sector" actively engaged in the political life of the country by participating in parliamentary elections. That same year, one of the movement's leaders, Dmytro Yarosh, won a parliamentary mandate, triumphing in a single-mandate district. This became an important step for integrating the movement into parliamentary politics.
In 2016, the party was officially renamed to "Right Sector," and its leader became Andriy Tarasenko—a public figure and participant in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. From that moment, the political force continued to develop as a separate structure with its own ideology and organizational system.
In 2019, "Right Sector," together with the parties "Svoboda" and "National Corps," decided to unite into a joint nationalist bloc to participate in the early parliamentary elections. This aimed to consolidate the nationalist electorate and strengthen political influence. At the same time, that year the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) recorded violations in the party's financial reporting.
In 2020, the political force nominated its candidates in local elections in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine, continuing participation in electoral processes at various levels. Thus, "Right Sector" combines political activity with public and ideological engagement.
